U vindt hier een gitaarkalender voor België en Nederland, een blog met onze activiteiten ten voordele van jong gitaartalent én een overzicht van gitaarbouwers uit BE en NL. Iedereen kan gratis een bouwer aan de lijst of een evenement aan de kalender toevoegen.
Tuur Segers (BE) and Andrea Roberto (IT) are two of the most talented young guitarists in Europe.
Andrea Roberto, began studying guitar at age 4. At 9 years old, he was admitted to the U. Giordano Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of guitarist Sandro Torlontano, and graduated with honors at the age of 14 with his bachelor’s degree. He continued his studies with Aniello Desiderio at the Koblenz International Guitar Academy in Germany. He has received a variety of international awards including the David Russell Prize for young talented musicians at the Conservatory of Vigo (Spain), the Parkening Young Guitarist Competition at Pepperdine, and the Joven Promesa Prize at the VIII José Tomás—Villa de Petrer (Spain) International Guitar Competition. In 2010 he won the Valter Cococcia Prize, which goes to the youngest Italian conservatory student graduating with honors. In addition to this he has won prizes in numerous other competitions including the International Competition of the Adriatic in Pescara, the Fernando Sor International Competition in Rome, the International Competition of Mottola and the Stefano Strata International Competition of Pisa.
Tuur Segers developed an interest for the guitar at a young age recieven his first lessons from his father. He has performed, amongst other places, in the Koninklijke Muntschouwburg, in ‘Bozar’ Brussel, the Basilica Festival of Vlaanderen in Tongeren, the guitar festival in Petrer (Spain) and the Wereldomroep in Hilversum. Additionally, Tuur was selected to play in the “fiësta de la guitarra” in Tallinn and Parnu in Estonia. Aditionaly he played with the ‘Rubens strijkkwartet’ in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, de Doelen in Rotterdam, the Philipszaal in Eindhoven and in Janine Jansen’s chamber music festival in Utrecht.
Tuur has won numerous prizes in competitions including: the ‘Dexia Classics’ in Brussels, the Andrés Segovia International Guitar Competition for Young Guitarists, the Anna Amalia International Guitar Competition for Young Guitarists, the Prinses Christina Concours, International Guitar Competition Brno, the Forum Gitarre Wien and the José Tomas International Guitar Competition in Petrer.

Na de eerste concerten van het project NEW GUITAR MUSIC in Oxford, Londen, Amsterdam en Utrecht, is het Studenten Gitaar Ensemble Nederland, o.l.v. Susana Opanski, klaar voor het tweede concert van deze serie: Innovators.
Voor dit concert ontmoet het ensemble de jonge talentvolle Nederlandse componist Aart Strootman. Aart is gitarist, docent en componist en hij heeft al veel prestigieuze prijzen op zijn lijst, zoals de Gaudeamus Award in september 2017. Afgelopen 26 mei heeft hij ook de Prix Annelie de Man gewonnen voor zijn compositie Anachronism #1. Benieuwd hoe zijn allerlaatste creatie, Anachronism#3 klinkt? Kom dan zaterdag 30 juni naar de Lutherse kerk in Utrecht waar het SGEN deze muziek, die Aart speciaal voor dit ensemble heeft gecomponeerd, zal uitvoeren.
Naast de wereldpremière van Anachronism #3, zal het ensemble ook muziek van verschillende vernieuwende componisten laten horen, zoals Philip Glass, Arvo Pärt, Andrew York en Django Reinhardt. Daarnaast speelt ook Aart Strootman solo’s op de gitaar. Dit alles bij elkaar geeft de luisteraar een bijzonder beeld van het moderne repertoire van de gitaar. Mis het niet!
Op vrijdagavond 22 april a.s. wordt er een akoestisch concert gehouden in de Jacobskapel door gitarist Manito. Met zijn vurige gitaarklanken en verhalende improvisaties neemt hij zijn publiek mee op reis naar een wereld vol sentiment, passie en weemoed.
Op het repertoire staan zowel eigen composities als traditionals, waarbij de rumba uit de Camargue als een rode draad door de muziek loopt.
Manito speelt ‘hoe de sterren staan, de maan schijnt en de wind waait’. Het bitterzoete karakter in zijn muziek is de weerklank van het leven; trieste- en vreugdevolle momenten zoeken een uitweg via zijn gitaar. Zijn naam is een verwijzing naar de Franse gitaarlegende ‘Manitas de Plata’ Dit optreden is een absolute aanrader voor de liefhebber van Spaanse gitaar.
