The Maastricht Guitar Society is excited to present the Ukranian guitar phenom Marko Topchii in the groote zaal of the Gasthuis Calvarienberg, Abtstraat 2a. Marko is one of the most successful competition winners on the international circuit at the moment with more than 50 awards in competitions and a recent performance in Carnegie hall. The concert opener will be the Conservatorium Guitar classe’s own Alexander Feldman!

Marko has won more than 50 awards worldwide in the international guitar competitions in the professional category. Among them, 26 first places in the competitions in United States, Mexico, Japan, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Indonesia, Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Liechtenstein, Serbia and Ukraine. The most notable prizes is available in the “awards” section. He plays guitars made by Karl-Heinz Roemmich, Yuichi Imai, Sakurai Kohno and Hong Sik Uhm. Marko is a D’Addario artist since 2012. Marko actively performs around the world, regularly gives concerts with the orchestra; he is desired teacher of the master classes and constantly mentioned in the mass media. Marko Topchii was born into a family of musicians in Kiev, Ukraine and is started studying guitar at the age of four. He is 24 years old and is currently pursuing a doctorate degree at the Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music in Kiev under the guidance of Prof. Yuri Alexik, Honored Artist of Ukraine. He completed his master degree in the National University of Arts in Kharkov in 2011, where he studied under Prof. Volodymir Dotsenko, Honored Artist of Ukraine. Susana is een zangeres-gitariste van Spaanse afkomst en woont nu in Amsterdam. Zij heeft de afgelopen 15 jaar de wereld over gereisd en overal opgetreden. Voor haar is nu het moment gekomen om haar eigen liedjes te presenteren, waarin zij alle muzikale schatten van haar reizen heeft verwerkt. Een Wind Rose of kompas wordt door zeelieden en reizigers gebruikt om te weg te wijzen tijdens hun tochten. Voor Susana symboliseert de roos de muziek die leidraad is in haar leven.
Samen met bassist Jeroen Vierdag speelt ze in de Gitaarsalon de akoestische versie van de Wind Rose
Jeroen Vierdag ,basgitaar en contrabas, speelt in de Ploctones met Anton Goudsmit, met Ed Verhoeff en Ferial en Nueva Manteca. Jazz en latin doceert hij aan het Rotterdams conservatorium.

Por el Amor de Dios is een gitaarensemble met een missie. Met een selectie aan zowel ontroerende als virtuoze composities uit het hele klassieke repertoire vertellen ze hun persoonlijk verhaal en slaan daarmee de brug  tussen klassieke melodieën en postmoderne muziek.

Hun  programma draagt de naam Klui•ze•naar en is een verzameling van meesterwerken die elk een uniek perspectief bieden op wat het betekent om zich vervreemd te voelen in de wereld. Aan bod komt muziek uit lang vervlogen tijden van
componisten die net dat ietsje anders waren, doorspekt met anekdotes over hoe het leven destijds niet zo veel anders was dan nu.

Verwacht een persoonlijk concert van een trio dat all-out gaat en u meesleept in de verlichting die klassieke muziek hen bracht!

Ruben Laureys voltooit zijn Master klassieke gitaar aan het Lemmensinstituut. Naast klassieke muziek is hij ook geïnteresseerd in jazz, bossa nova, popmuziek en vele andere muziekstijlen en componeert hij gitaarstukken en liederen met pianobegeleiding
