Mr. Marchione is currently one of the most respected guitarists in Europe. He studied at the academy of music in Rome and thereafter won innumerable awards at international and national competitions including Ancona 1979/80, “L. Legnani” Parma 1981, “M. Guiliani” 1982, “Ville de Sablé” 1985, Gargnano 1989, “N. Paganini” 1991, “Città di Latina” 1992 and is now a regular guest at festivals throughout Europe (Italy, Spain, France, Holland, England, Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Rumania, Ukraine, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Croatia) appearing both as soloist and with various ensembles. He has performed in most of the great concert halls in Europe including the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. Additionally, while tourings in Russia he was invited to perform in the prestigous Main Auditorium of “Tchaikowsky Conservatory in Moscow” as well as with the Philharmonia of St. Petersburg, an honour very rarely bestowed upon a guitarist. Both concerts were sell-outs and received standing ovations. He frequently performs with orchestras across Europe and in 1998 he gave his debut at the Berliner Philharmonie in 1988
.
Many guitar composers have dedicated compositions to him, such as Abel Carlevaro, John Duarte, Carlo Domeniconi, G. Drozd and Simone Iannarelli. Mr. Marchione has made many highly-praised transcriptions for guitar including transcriptions of Schubert’s Die schöne Müllerin and Telemann’s 12 Fantasias for solo violin, which have both been released on CD.
Mr. Marchione is also a renowned pedagogue and lecturer who’s students have included Marcin Dylla, Goran Krivopapic Irina Kulikova, Vladimir Gorbach, Tal Hurwitz and Florian Larousse. As a testament to his pedagogical skill many of his students have won prizes in international competitions (over 60 prizes and over 40 first prizes at the last count).
Openingsfilm van het Ambacht in Beeld Film Festival 2019 is Carmine Street Guitars. Na vertoning van de documentaire is er een Q&A met de gitaarbouwers uit de film: Rick Kelly en Cindy Hulej, die speciaal voor het festival uit New York zijn overgevlogen. We sluiten de middag af met een borrel.

Carmine Street Guitars
Once the centre of the New York bohemia, Greenwich Village is now home to luxury restaurants and buzzer door clothing stores catering to the nouveau riche. But one shop in the heart of the Village remains resilient to the encroaching gentrification: Carmine Street Guitars.
There, custom guitar maker Rick Kelly and his young apprentice Cindy Hulej, build handcrafted guitars out of reclaimed wood from old hotels, bars, churches and other local buildings. Nothing looks or sounds quite like a Rick Kelly guitar, which is the reason they are embraced by the likes of Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, Patti Smith, Jim Jarmusch, just to name a few.
Featuring a cast of prominent musicians and artists, the film captures five days in the life of Carmine Street Guitars, while examining an all-too-quickly vanishing way of life.
Ontdek Karlijn Langendijk, een getalenteerde gitariste met een unieke muzikale stijl. Haar betoverende melodieën vangen complexe emoties in elke noot. Karlijn heeft een indrukwekkende muzikale achtergrond, met opleidingen aan gerenommeerde conservatoria en ervaring op het podium met gitaristen als Tommy Emmanuel en Peter Finger.
Ze heeft prijzen gewonnen, waaronder de 1e prijs bij de “SAI Acoustic Guitar Competition” in Tsjechië in 2015, en ze stond in de finale van de “Acoustic Guitarist of the Year” competitie in Londen in 2018. In januari 2021 ontving ze de sponsorprijs van de “European Guitar Award”. Het hoogtepunt kwam in augustus 2023, toen Karlijn de 1e prijs behaalde bij de “Francisco Mário International Prize for Modern Guitar – Europe”.
Mis deze unieke muzikale ervaring niet op zaterdag 28 oktober in het Zeeheldentheater, waar ze haar nieuwste album “ATLAS” presenteert: een muzikale reis door belangrijke levensgebeurtenissen en fascinaties.
